A couple of short news items from Tethers Unlimited:
AF Awards TUI Contract to Deliver Two HYDROS Thrusters for CubeSat Mission: TUI has received a contract from the Air Force to deliver two HYDROS thrusters for an undisclosed CubeSat mission. The HYDROS thruster enables CubeSats and other secondary payloads to use a propellant that is non-toxic, has no stored energy, requires no pressurization, and is ‘man-rated’ — WATER — yet perform missions requiring orbit agility and large total delta-Vs.
TUI Delivers Multi-Band Antenna for Air Force Space Weather Mission: TUI has completed delivery of several multi-band antennas for the Air Force’s “Multi-frequency Ionospheric Signal Transmitter” (MIST) payload scheduled to fly in late 2015 on the COSMIC-2 satellites. TUI’s multi-band quadrifilar helical antenna will provide simultaneous transmission of UHF, L-band, and S-band beacon signals to enable measurement of space weather conditions.
