A highly magnetized neutron Star named SGR J1550-5418 erupted with a series of powerful x-ray and gamma-ray flares on Jan 22, 2009. NASA's Swift satellite observed the outburst over the course of 6 days as the racing x-rays collided with dust in the surrounding area.
