Wow. That’s far worse than I thought. Someone did not correctly calculate effective gains.
It clearly did not have the right setpoints for null v and location. Seems like a plain PID loop is in order, and they are fiddling with Smith predictors. Looked like a tired athlete just getting it wrong, like a baseball player who’s going to catch the ball, but hits the fence first.
